Assistant Chief (AC) Rutherford joined the Yorkshire Volunteer Fire Department in October, 1997. Outside of performing his duties as an AC, Operations Officer, and a Health and Safety Officer, AC Rutherford has completed two Masters degree programs in Early Childhood Special Education. Shortly after finishing his academic endeavors, AC Rutherford worked for Fairfax County Public Schools as an Early Childhood Special Education teacher from 2011-2022. In June 2022, AC Rutherford decided to change professions and was hired as an Emergency Response Coordinator with Paul Davis Restoration. AC Rutherford continues his endeavors to help others in their time of need.
